A Day at Coba with the Family

The Coba ruins are a fantastic site and one of our favorite recommendations for a fun day outing with the family. The Coba ruins are home to one to one of the only pyramids in the world that you are still allowed to climb!

The Coba ruins are a fantastic site and one of our favorite recommendations for a fun day outing with the family. The Coba ruins are home to one to one of the only pyramids in the world that you are still allowed to climb! The property itself is huge and we recommend renting bicycles to make your day in the jungle surrounding the ruins much more enjoyable. You can get bikes for around $3 for the day or you can hire someone to bike you around on a bike taxi for $5-$10 depending on how long you want to stay at Coba.  We recommend packing snacks and plenty of water!

Let us know if you have any other questions about this awesome site!

Best Breakfast Tacos in Tulum

One of the best parts of Mexico is the food, especially our world famous tacos.

One of the best parts of Mexico is the food, especially our world famous tacos. Here in Tulum, Don Honorio has the best breakfast tacos. They cook their food Yucatan style which means all the meat is left marinating overnight, underground. They have two different styles of pork, steak, and turkey. For the pickier eaters in the family they offer delicious quesadillas. They also have a nonspicy avocado sauce, a mild pico de gallo, and a killer habanero sauce for the more adventurous spirit.

They are open from 6:30am till about 2pm (Tues-Sun), or until they run out of food.

Favorite Family Friendly Cenotes for Snorkeling

One of the most beautiful aspects of Tulum is the underwater cave system made up of cenotes. There is nothing else like them in the world! Some are great for scuba diving, others for cliff jumping, but here is our list of our favorite family cenotes for snorkeling.

One of the most beautiful aspects of Tulum is the underwater cave system made up of cenotes. There is nothing else like them in the world! Some are great for scuba diving, others for cliff jumping, but here is our list of our favorite family cenotes for snorkeling.

Casa Cenote is the last outlet of the river system made up by the cenotes. You can stand in one spot and see the Caribbean Sea on one side and the fresh water cenote. Here you will find adolescent tarpon, crabs, and if you’re brave enough a baby caiman.

Dos Ojos Cenote: This cenote has it all! An amazing place to rest in the hammock, and multiple entrances to the half covered cenote so you never feel too crowded. The half open effect allows for light to pour in and gives you a beautiful underwater view.

Gran Cenote: Another beautiful half covered Cenote where you’ll find small turtles! There is a small second cenote all the way at the back where the water is shallow and you can take amazing pictures.
